Bio

Emil Novotny is a jazz double bass player and composer from Prague currently based in Amsterdam.

He has been an active member of the Prague jazz scene for several years, playing with projects such as Osmosis Q, NBNB Quartet etc. 

In 2024 he moved to the Netherlands to where he is studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Some of his local projects include Alper Aydogan Quartet, to which he contributes original music; Shin/Vos/Novotny Trio, a more straight ahead jazz band and others. He also remains active in Czechia, such as with Shum Davar, an ethno fusion band.

He is now focusing on building a repertoire of original compositions and forming his own band.
