Bio

Emil Novotny is an up-and-coming jazz double bass player from Prague currently based in Amsterdam.

His projects include Osmosis Quintet, which features original compositions influenced by contemporary and free jazz, NBNB Quartet which focuses on modern straight-ahead jazz, and Shum Davar, a multinational band that plays a fusion of folk music from different traditions, such as Klezmer, Kavkaz, Turkish, and Balkan.

In 2024 he moved to the Netherlands to study at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. He is currently developing new projects there.
